The mission of MCA department is to bring to the community the benefits of teaching, research technologies and service.
Goals
To ensure that MCA graduates possess knowledge, professional competence, a sense of community responsibility, a capacity to continue their professional and personal development throughout their lives.
Research
To advance and apply knowledge germane to the profession and to the community with which department interacts and which would be relevant to the enhancement of economics, cultural and social conditions.
Department Summary
The department was started in September 2007 with 5 staff members and 57 students. In 2008- 2009 the staff member strength was increased to 8, and the student strength was 84. In 2009-2010 the staff strength was 13 and the student was 123. In 2010-2011 the staff strength is 14 and the student strength is 125 with a breakup as follows.

90 number of computer terminals with highest and latest configuration are available with a ratio of 1:2 in 3 different labs namely

- Programming Lab

The department is provided a well equipped centralized PG library with sufficient volumes and titles

The department is provided essential software’s required as per the curriculum of the university
Achievements/Participations/Awards

In February 2008, 2009 and 2010, the department has conducted 3 National level conferences on Computing and Communication (NCCC) in association with department of computer science and engineering.

In august 2009 and 2010, the department conducted 2 National level Students’ Symposiums(GEEFEST)

In February 2011, the CSI Students’ Chapter was successfully started

Many of 2007-10 batch students are placed in reputed companies like PATNI,CTS etc

The students and staff members jointly developed a software for ‘Online Student Feedback System’

The faculty members are regularly participating in various FDP, Workshop and Seminars sponsored by AICTE, MHRD etc. Also they have presented many research papers in various conferences and journals.

Most of the staff members have received ‘Best Performer Award’ for their academic excellence.

Most of the students are regularly participating in various symposiums, workshops and seminars and have won many prizes.
